DCFX Series Wire Strippers

FAQs:
  • How do I know which replacement blades I need for my DCFX Stripper?
    • Blades are no longer sold separately. Stripping Heads are sold with blades pre-installed and configured. Use the product page (or the chart below) to find the correct replacement.
  • How do I know if my DCFX unit is a drilled through version?
    • DCFX1 and DCFX3 are all drilled. DCFX5 and DCXFT are not drilled through.
    • To identify a drilled through version of a DCFX, look at the butt end of the hand piece to see if a wire could be passed through that end or is it just a flat screwdriver slot.
  • How close to the work piece can I get with a DCFX?
    • Approx. 1/2″, material and work piece dependent.
  • What is the tool life on DCFX blades?
    • Tool life in general is hard to determine because there are so many factors involved such as proper set up, amount of use (production level), skill of operator (proper use), type of material being cut or removed, environment, etc.
    • DCFX blades are made of carbide and have a good tool life if used properly, but operator technique can be an important factor. Excessive copper removal will shorten life.
Tips and Facts:
  • DCFX units use centrifugal force to strip enamel and magnet wire.
  • DCFX units are both 115V and 230V and have a switch. They are shipped to customers on the 230V setting. If you have a new unit and it is running slow, check to make sure the voltage is on the proper setting.
  • The blade setting fixture is recommended when replacing blades.
  • Very little set up time required.
  • They can cover a large range of gauges without tooling changes.
  • Blade depth is adjustable.
  • Can be used for window stripping.
